According to the law, works of a literary, scientific, and artistic nature may be registered, namely:
Books, pamphlets, magazines, newspapers, and other writings; lectures, lessons, speeches, and sermons;
Dramatic and dramatic-musical works and their staging; choreographic works and pantomimes whose expression is fixed in writing or by any other form; and musical compositions, with or without words;
Cinematographic, television, phonographic, videographic, or radio works; and works of drawing, tapestry, painting, sculpture, ceramics, tiles, engraving, lithography, and architecture;
Photographic works or those produced by processes analogous to photography; works of applied art, industrial drawings or models, and design works that constitute artistic creations, regardless of the protection related to industrial property;
Illustrations and geographical maps; projects, sketches, and plastic works related to architecture, urban planning, geography, or other sciences;
Slogans or mottos, even of an advertising nature, if they show originality; parodies and other literary or musical compositions, even when inspired by a theme or motif from another work;
Computer programs with a creative character and databases;
Translations, arrangements, instrumentations, dramatizations, film adaptations, and other transformations of any work, even when the original work is not subject to protection;
Summaries and compilations of protected or unprotected works, such as collections, encyclopedias, and anthologies that, by the selection or arrangement of their contents, may constitute intellectual creations;
Systematic or annotated compilations of texts of conventions, laws, regulations, and reports, or decisions of administrative, judicial, or other organs or authorities of the State or Public Administration.
The INICC also registers Collective Management Organizations for Copyright and Related Rights.
