The 1st Phase – Evaluation of the Film Collection of the Project to Support the Safeguarding of the Film Heritage of the National Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries (INICC) – kicked off on September 8. This project is funded by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID). The first day of work was dedicated to training in Occupational Health and Safety, an essential component to ensure the protection of the professionals involved in the activities and to guarantee the proper and safe handling of the valuable audiovisual heritage preserved in the INICC Film Archive. The training is an essential preparatory step for the development of the collection assessment activities, helping to adopt proper procedures in the handling, conservation, and safeguarding of film materials. Carrying out this phase is another important step in the efforts to preserve, protect, and enhance Mozambique's audiovisual memory, contributing to the protection of a heritage of recognized historical and cultural value. The initiative also strengthens cultural cooperation between Mozambique and Spain, through AECID, highlighting the shared commitment to preserving audiovisual heritage and creating the conditions for its appreciation and transmission to future generations.
