The National Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries (INICC, IP) celebrated, on March 28, the seventh anniversary of its establishment. To mark the occasion, several activities were held on the 26th, 27th, and 28th in the southern, central, and northern regions of the country, specifically in the cities of Maputo, Beira, and Nampula, where INICC has representations. As part of the program designed for the commemorative week, activities included a study session on public service legislation, registration of works, a lecture on “The role of Cultural and Creative Industries in Mozambique,” a book and record fair, film screenings, and visits to Boane Basic School, Infantário Primeiro de Maio in Maputo, and the Makonde Art Association. In addition to reflecting on the role of public servants as service providers and discussing the current state of the sector, the institution also carried out solidarity actions, donating school supplies to students of Boane Basic School affected by recent floods, as well as essential goods to children at the Infantário Primeiro de Maio. Within the scope of the celebrations, the General Manager, Roberto Dove, stated that these commemorations mark a significant step in fulfilling the institution’s objectives, which were established to promote, regulate, and support the development of cultural and creative industries. He emphasized that the sector remains committed to its role as a facilitator in enhancing Mozambican cultural identity and strengthening the creative economy.
